20 Year Anniversary

Dear Colleagues, Clients and Partners,

ISSI are proud to be celebrating 20 years of providing ICT cabling solutions to companies across the UK.

ISSI has been serving the UK since 2001 when our Managing Direct Gary Taylor first established the business. His vision was to build an experienced team and deliver project services for secure environments.

Since that time, ISSI has evolved into a diverse and highly skilled team of people renowned for delivering high quality projects, nationally.

Achieving this milestone is proof that our Vision, Mission and Values are aligned not just internally but throughout our partnerships with clients and suppliers. We are looking forward to the next 20 years, working with our business partners to keep delivering our promises.

Here is what our Managing Director Gary Taylor had to say about this great accomplishment.

“Well it’s been 20 years since I left my previous employer selling test and measurement kit to the telecoms market. I’d decided to go it alone when my wife was heavily pregnant with our 2^nd child.  After handing in my notice in 2001, the telecoms industry imploded leaving me with no choice but to make this work.

20 years on I’m so very proud of what I have achieved developing individuals who were very raw at the start, that has now moved on to senior positions in the cabling industry. I always employ and treat people as I would have liked (not that my employers were bad) to be treated. Being responsible for other people’s livelihoods and their families, seeing them grow from young gung-ho individuals transitioning in to married life and having children I feel like the “work” father. The stresses and strains that others don’t see when you go home, telling my wife I couldn’t pay myself this month as the cashflow was low and I had to pay the lads are all character building situations.

The best part of all of this is that through the trials comes clarity of vision as to what you want to achieve and I have had one person by my side throughout this process, Shawn Watson. Shawn has been there through the tough times and the good times. We have achieved much together, and he was responsible for bringing the technicians on board, his reserved demeanour hides a sharp brain and his analytical mindset has been a godsend through the years.

I have had many members of staff celebrate 10 years plus, many have moved on but continue to work in the industry. Luke Webb our Operations Director is a prime example of how we enable our staff to develop, Luke joined in 2007, as a technician. His ambition and attention to detail did not go unnoticed early in his career with us and he worked his way up to the Board where his contribution is greatly valued. Luke’s vast knowledge of project delivery continues to inspire our project teams to deliver client projects to the highest standards.

Our Office Manager Ruth Khima has been with us for 11 years in July, and her contribution to the business throughout the years has allowed us to build rigorous systems and processes which are continually reviewed and developed to help deliver our world class service. Ruth keeps us all in check and works all sides of the box as the linchpin between our departments.

A massive thank you to everyone both in ISSI Ltd and those that have supported us over the years. This could not have been possible without our loyal clients and suppliers and the incredible team we have on board.

I am looking forward to the future success we will have together over the next 20 years.”
